Can you see your organisation without you leading it? What might it look like?
Yes. Better than now, better than before, better than ever. Both in operations and field. More effective in the field. More cohesive as a team. More creative in problem solutions. More courageous and decisive in decision-making.
In what ways is your identity tied to your organisation? If you’ve been in your organisation for a long time, what emotions are sparked when you think about not being a part of the leadership?
There are guilt, fear and shame involved, because of how my performace is tied to the organization’s wellbeing… and my own emotional wellbeing.
A time will come when someone else is leading your organisation. How will you make sure you will be ok with all the decision-making of the new leader if you have no say in it? What do you need to do to get yourself in that place?
To receive and embrace my whole identity be found in Jesus and Him alone. Not in my failures nor achievements. Not in the praises nor criticism. Not in comparison nor promotion. Not in favors given nor giftings acknowledged. Not in my connections nor know-how. Not in the stewardship entrusted nor support amount given to me. Not in the perception of people within the team nor outside the organization. Not in all these things. My personal identity is at a whole different plane of category and dimension altogether.
