Creating a nonprofit to help single parent families in crisis in Austin, TX in the 1990s. Leadership allows us to take forward movement to assess and fully understand, and respond to the needs of these families. Leadership moved us from being concerned about the problem to actively serving and providing resources and solutions for the families.
Second example – one church was led by a man who wanted to be called and respected as a leader, but who didn’t serve as a leader with the heart of Christ. Over time he became more and more self-absorbed and lost touch with the people he was suppose to be serving. He lost his church role completely in the end.
