1. Take a moment to think about why you are involved in fundraising. What is your motivation for fundraising? What is it that fuels your fundraising efforts?

My desire to increase the scope and the quality of impact is my primary motivation for fundraising. When I see the kind of needs that our NGO addresses, I long for more and faithful partners to fund the solution.

2. How would you describe your current mindset when it comes to fundraising? Are there any areas in which you might need a mindset shift?

My mindset does include a sense of competition in a zero-sum game for funds that will also go to more urgent or more physical needs (like humanitarian relief) and I get stuck thinking about the value of our work in comparison with so many others. I also think of ask for funds as an intrusive personal request about someone’s private financial decisions. This is something I would rarely be forward about with anyone but a close friend.
